San Marino is a tiny independent state entirely surrounded by Italy. It is not part of the EU. Located in central Italy, near the Adriatic coast, not far from the city of Rimini. It has no direct access to the sea, which is 24 kilometers away. The population of San Marino is approximately 35,000 people.
The Republic of San Marino has been a member of the International Maritime Organization since 2002. It has ratified all major international conventions and joined the group of countries offering their flag for ship registration. The San Marino Yacht Registry, established in 2021, is one of the most innovative in the world.
Registration under the San Marino flag is available for 1 or 5 years, after which it has to be renewed. A local registration agent is required for non-residents – we can provide one for you. Documents can be submitted in English, which is very convenient.

3. Yachts longer than 13 meters require a document confirming the vessel's length. This can be a CE Declaration, a Boat Manual, a Survey Report, or a Tonnage Certificate indicating the yacht's dimensions.
4. Proof of deletion from the previous registry, if the boat was previously registered under a different flag.
5. A completed Application for Registration, in which you need to provide detailed information about the yacht, including its age, technical specifications, previous registration details, owner information, a couple of suggested names for your yacht, etc.
6. A form for obtaining a radio license, in which you have to provide a list of all radio equipment on your boat.
7. The appointment of a local registration agent, who must be a resident of San Marino, is required for flag registration in San Marino.
8. Power of Attorney for the registration of your yacht in San Marino.
Documents can be submitted in English, which is very convenient. We will provide the necessary forms and assist you in filling them out. The invoice is issued only after all documents have been reviewed.
Please note: a survey is required for yachts over 20 years old.

The country issues Euro coins with its symbols and then sells them to tourists. In souvenir shops, 1 Euro of San Marino coinage is sold for 5-10 standard Euros.
San Marino has its own professional army, consisting of about 100 people. The last time the army was involved in military operations was during the Second World War. The last major battle in which San Marino actively participated dates back to 1463.
San Marino is the only country in the world where the number of cars exceeds its population! This is due to the country's quite liberal tax conditions for car registration, making it attractive to drivers, especially from neighboring Italy. Many Italians register their cars in San Marino to avoid high taxes and fees in their own country.
